Subject: Candidate for the Position

I would like to discuss some reasons why I would be a strong candidate for the position as a registered nurse at the Pediatric Care Hospital in Gainesville, FL.  I feel like my work experience, educational qualifications, and other important skills make me an excellent applicant for the job.

My work experience includes four years in a hospital setting. Two of those years were spent at UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL and the other two years were spent at UF Health Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. While I was there I protected the organization values by keeping patient information confidential along with completing forms, reports, logs, and records. I also cleaned rooms and prepared them for new patients while providing safe and personal patient care. My education in nursing at the University of Florida would allow me to contribute a thorough understanding of patient care and confidentiality. The University of Florida has one of the best nursing programs in the country and I was fortunate enough to engage in course such as health assessment and communication, wellness promotion and illness prevention, population focused care, and the legal and ethical issues in nursing. With my work and educational experience I feel as if I am very prepared to work with doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals to take care of the number one priority at the hospital: the patient.

However, I feel like there are a few areas I might need to touch on before applying for this position. Since many registered nurses uses Microsoft Office software, I will probably need to update my certifications so I can become more adapted to the newer program. Also, I think it will be a good idea to get some clinical experience working in pediatrics or neonatal care since that is what the hospital I applied to focuses on. These are all things I can work on to make myself the best candidate possible for the position.
